Mr Godwin Idemudia, General Manager, Communications, Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EKEDC), has condemned incessant attacks on electricity workers by some residents while performing their official assignment.
Idemudia, who made the statement on Thursday in Lagos, appealed to the police and other security agencies to ensure the safety of the company’s staff.
He said that some staff of the company were recently attacked in Badagry and Amisu Igboro Street Ijanikin.
“In the course of the mayhem, a distress call was put across to the police in Ijanikin Police Station, who responded promptly,” he said.
The EKEDC spokesman said that the company had been receiving the support of law enforcement agencies within its network to protect its workers against assault.
