A total of 117, out of 5,598, graduating students of the University of Ibadan, emerged in the first class category at the institution’s 2016 convocation ceremony on Monday.

The Vice Chancellor, of the Prof. Idowu Olayinka who disclosed this at the ceremony, said that the graduands were from four Faculties, as well as its Distance Learning Centre,

Olayinka said that 1,407 came out with Second Class Honours (Upper Division), 3,020 Second Class Honours, (Lower Division), 666 Third Class Honours, 74 Passes and 314 Unclassified Degree .

A further breakdown, according to him, showed that 13 out of the 117 First class graduands, were from the Faculty of Arts; 25 from the Faculty of Science.
