Nigerians have been left to wonder about what has become of our beloved country as the video of a 7 year old boy who was burnt for allegedly stealing garri went viral on wednesday.
As a result, Kingsley Ughe, a legal practitioner and General Counsel of the Joint Action Aids has reacted to the diverse reports about a boy lynched by an angry mob in Lagos state for stealing.
According to Ughe, General Counsel for Joint Action Aids in a Facebook post titled, ‘A Thief and A Frenzied Mob Baying for Blood,’ the victim was a member of a gang of notorious thieves trying to steal a phone from a woman who screamed for help and not a seven-year-old boy, as claimed by media reports.
