An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday remanded a 22-year-old man, Ismaila Fatai, in Ilesa prison for allegedly killing his uncle.
Fatai is facing a one-count charge of murder and his plea was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, remanded the accused in prison because of the magnitude of the offence and adjourned the case till April 27 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Supol Mireti Wilson, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb.3 at about 9:30 am at Fasina’s Compound, Ede.
Wilson said the accused, during a family meeting which led to a rancour, used a firewood to hit his uncle on his head.
He said the offence contravened Sections 319(1) of the Criminal Code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.
