Dep. Gov. urges parents to play a major role in child upbringing

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat, on Tuesday said parents should not to leave the responsibility of child upbringing to teachers alone.

Adebule made the call at  the ongoing Science, Arts and Craft Exhibition organised by the Ministry of Education as part of activities to celebrate Lagos at 50 in Lagos.

Students from public and private  primary, junior and senior secondary schools showcased their initiatives at the exhibition held in Education Districts II,  III and IV, in Ketu, Lagos Island and Surulere respectively.

She said that the busy schedule of parents had made many of them to ignore their duties in bringing up their children, leaving it to  teachers.

According to her, the teachers and parents’ role of nurturing children should complement each other.
