Gov.Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Wednesday warned residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in drainages and undesignated sites to avoid epidemics and flooding.
Al-Makura gave the warning in Lafia while reacting to the indiscriminate dumping of refuse by residents at the state’s Popular “On the Move Garage” and other undesignated sites in the state capital.
He said that the warning became imperative considering the harmful effect of refuse on human health and to ensure environmental cleanliness and the general wellbeing of the people of the state.
“My administration is doing its best in keeping the environment clean; it is also the responsibility of everybody to complement government efforts by keeping his or her environment clean.
