‘IBILE’: Keexs Launches Art Competition

In celebration of Lagos at 50, KEEXS will be exhibiting her second footwear collection tagged “BILE” in Lagos on the 25th of June, 2017.

As the name depicts, IBILE means local, native or heritage in Yoruba and is also an acronym for the 5 founding regions in Lagos – Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island and Epe.

The IBILE collection is a weave of Inspiration from the city of Lagos and the Yoruba people (who are the dominant inhabitants of Lagos). As the commercial capital of the most populous black nation in the world, the city of Lagos has a very rich history and tradition.

The collection will be launched with an awe-inspiring exhibition and the brand is calling for artists to showcase their IBILE inspired artwork in collaboration with the African Artists Foundation.
