Engr David Omoloye, the Chairman, Kano State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Power Engineers (NIPE), has expressed the readiness of the Institute to ensure increased power generation in the country.

Omoloye made the remark during the inauguration of NIPE Executive Council in Kano on Wednesday

HE said there was the need for stakeholders to join hands with the Institute in an effort to ensure the increase of power generation in the country.

According to him, the country is far behind other countries in terms of power generation and distribution across all the States including the Federal capital, Abuja.

Omoloye added that Kano, Jigawa and Katsina States are presently receiving only 340 megawatts, instead of the 700 megawatts needed by the three states.
