Kirike Town Inaugurates Caretaker, Constitution Drafting Committees

Kirike Town in Rivers on Sunday inaugurated a seven-man interim caretaker committee of its Council of Chiefs to administer the affairs of the council for three months.

The Amanyanabo of Kirike, HRM King Tamuno-Omisiki Ogube who inaugurated the committee in Port Harcourt, charged it to ensure that a straightforward Constitution was drafted.

Ogube said that the committee headed by Chief Ibileme Dappah had a tenure of three months.

According to him, the committee is to fashion out a draft constitution so that after the three months, an election will be held to elect new executives.

The former executives of the council were dissolved on July 22, 2017.

Ogube urged the committee to do justice to all manner of persons irrespective of the War Canoe House (clan) they hailed from.
