Mr Mohammed Danmallam, the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, on Monday said the state command recorded zero report of car snatching in the last two months.
Danmallam told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu that the command had effectively put an end to car snatching by bursting all car snatching syndicates previously operating in the state.
He said that car snatching was common when he took over the command in February this year.
“That time, we received nothing less than six reports of car snatching on a daily basis in the state. The development was so unpleasant to me.
“So, we went into action, spreading our pro-active search and drag-net to every nook and cranny as well as people who deal or have business to do with car handling, repair and spare parts sales.
