Controversial Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West was saved from being injured by security officials on Saturday during the Kaaba Day celebration when suspected political thugs pelted him with stones and other dangerous objects.
The senator was pelted with stones and other dangerous objects at the township stadium, venue of the celebration after announcing a paltry N3m donation.
Governor Yahaya Bello, according to Sahara Reporters, got the news of the attack on the senator and made a U-Turn before he reached the venue.
Senator Melaye, who arrived the venue at about 11 ‘o’clock in the morning, was welcomed by a crowd as he posed for photographs with supporters.
