The Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has vowed to deal decisively with violators of native laws in the kingdom.
Oba Ewuare gave the warning Tuesday shortly after the Benin Customary Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee submitted report of the first quarter of the year.
Recall that the Monarch had set up the dispute resolution committee by a Royal Proclamation, on October 13th 2017, to help handle and resolve communal matters such as inheritance, land matters, deep family issues amongst others.
Chairman of the Committee and a Retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Samson Uwaifo, who led other members, informed the Monarch of the refusal of respondents to honour the Committee’s invitation, a development he said hampered quick justice delivery.
