The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, has expressed disappointment over the poor turnout of voters at Saturday’s by-elections in Oshodi/Isolo and Agege Local Governments areas of the state.
While addressing the press during an on the spot assessment of the voting process, the Electoral Commissioner in charge of the Oshodi/Isolo Zone, Chief Toyin Ibrahim-Famakinwa expressed disappointment over low voter turnout for the election.
She noted, however, that this would not invalidate the outcome of the election, while expressing satisfaction with the support received from security personnel in all the Polling Units as this went a long way in ensuring that there was no breach of the peace during the exercise.
