Kaduna State Governor-elect, Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i, on Sunday said his landslide victory at the Saturday’s governorship election was a victory for democracy.
El-Rufai of the All Progressives Congress, polled 1,117,365 to defeat incumbent Governor Mukhtar Yero of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The former Minister, who spoke to journalists at his campaign office in Kaduna amidst hundreds of his supporters, shortly after he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, said he could not let the people of the state down with the support given to him.
