Security agencies have shut Nigeria’s National Assembly Complex, few hours to the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly.
Stern-looking policemen took over the complex very early this morning and barricaded the entrance with their vehicles, preventing sergeant-at-arms, journalists, and administrative staff from gaining access.
Sources said that the action may not be unconnected with tension already generated ahead of the inauguration over the contest for the leadership positions in the incoming assembly.
