Buhari won’t rig Bayelsa guber poll for APC, says PDP chieftain

The pioneer Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Charles Dorgu, has asked the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), not to drag President Muhammad Buhari into the plot to rig the forth coming governorship polls because the president is “too busy and decent to manipulate the election.”
Dorgu who was one of the founding fathers of the PDP, said although Buhari and the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC has the political right to come to Bayelsa and assist in the campaigns ahead of the election, the clamour by the APC for the use of federal might against the PDP with deployment of federal troops to Bayelsa State “will only promote anarchy and confusion.”
While sounding the warning in Yenagoa, he said that the Federal Government and Buhari should not have any business in the forceful change of political structure in the State, to avoid anarchy.
“The Federal Government has no business in destabilising the State. If they are interested in the governorship election, they should liase with those giving them false claims and engage in political campaigns.
“Buhari is too busy and decent to engage in illegality and fraudulent change in the power structure of the State, if those people involved in blackmail and name dropping want to know, Buhari will not do it. They are dreaming.”
Dorgu noted that political campaigns in the state have gone beyond blackmail, desperate defections and propaganda.
“PDP has been playing grassroots politics at the inception, while other political parties were busy making noise in Yenagoa. PDP went into the communities. The people looked at our pedigree and saw what we have done.
