The outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Dalhatu Tafida has lamented unpaid salaries of the High Commission staff running into three months.
Speaking during an interactive session with the media at the High Commission office on Northumberland, London, Dr. Tafida, said staff are being owed because the High Commission has not received overhead cost for three months now.
He therefore, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to hasten up the payment of the overhead cost so that salaries of staff could be paid.
According to him, “We have not paid the salary of the staff because the government owes the commission its overhead cost for three months and I am using this opportunity to appeal to the government to pay the money owed so that all our workers can get their salary immediately”.
On the last general election, Dr. Tafida attributed the failure of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last presidential election to the clowns that surrounded the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
Tafida, the longest serving ambassador to the United Kingdom said that he advised Jonathan when he came to London in November on how the campaign should look like and the way to go about it to ensure victory but regretted that he never did.
The outgoing High Commissioner who coordinated Jonathan presidential campaign in 2011, said the former President was deceived by the so-called Transformation Agenda of Nigeria, TAN.
