Borno State Deputy Governor, Zanna Umar Mustapha, is dead.
Mustapha was said to have died in his sleep in Jimeta in Adamawa State.
Mustapha’s death confirmed by one of his Personal Assistants, under strict anonymity, said the aides to the late deputy governor become disturbed when they did not see their boss wake up for the usual early morning prayers.
At about 8am when they forced their way into his room at the official accommodation, he was discovered dead.
Mustapha is due for burial on Saturday (today) in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, at 4pm.
Mustapha has spent the better part of the last two weeks in Adamawa State where he has been receiving those displaced by the Boko Haram crisis in the North East from Cameroon.
