Zambezi Magic and Maisha Magic East dished up the laughs, with a dash of Hollywood glamour at the MultiChoice Content Extravaganza in Mauritius.
The East African powerhouse channels hosted an evening of music and comedy at The Outrigger Hotel & Resort, attended by a host of East African stars with a special appearance by From Dusk ‘Til Dawn’s D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz, the Gecko brothers from the cult series.
Zambezi Magic Head Addiel Dzinoreva teased with some upcoming content for the channel (DStv 160), including returns for Generations, Isidingo and Our Perfect Wedding, and exciting shows like the ever-popular Tonight With Zororo. He also hinted at an opportunity on the channel for the best filmmakers on the continent to showcase their talents, as well as promising more African music and locally-produced comedy content.

The Zambezi News team also delivered a ‘live broadcast’ of their biting satirical news content, pulling no punches as they riffed on ‘MasterChef’ and closed with a special rendition of ‘My Name Is… Zim Shady’. To keep the laughter going, Ugandan comedian Salvador (Patrick Idringi Vieira) took to the stage to share his irreverent jokes about African lifestyle.
