Amidst all the awards and success surrounding him in East Africa, has anyone ever considered what would happen if Tanzanian artiste, Diamond Platnumz’s music career tanked?
Would he be able to sustain the lifestyle he’s been accustomed to? What would become of his young family, especially his infant daughter Tiffah?
Well his mother, Sanura Kasim is the first to have given it a deep thought as she expresses her fears and worries concerning her superstar son.
‘My greatest fear is watching my son’s musical career crumble. I know there are a lot of competitors in the music industry who are equally talented. This year (2015), my son’s star has shone very brightly!’ she told Tanzania’s Bongo 5.
She also added: ‘News about him and I literally feature on dailies every other day. Many people read, and it feels good. He has placed us in a very high position in society. As a parent I often worry for my son.’
Diamond recently won the Best African Act at the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), beating competition from top continental acts like Yemi Alade, DJ Arafat, AKA and Davido.
