    The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) was established b y Ben Murray Bruce’s Silverbird Group in 1986 and has seen dozens of ladies emerge beauty queens. This special feature focuses on the queens of the last 10 years starting from 2005.
    Omowunmi Akinifesi

    After emerging MBGN in 2005, Omowunmi Akinifesi returned to Unilag to complete her studies and graduated with a degree in Geography and Regional planning. She has since moved on to becoming an environmental expert after earning a Masters in Environmental Monitoring, Modeling and Management from the Kings College, London. Omowunmi is currently an environmental ambassador for Lagos state.

    Abiola Bashorun won the coveted pageant in 2006 at the age of 18. She spent her reign creating awareness about sickle cell awareness. After her reign as MBGN, she moved to London where she spent a private life. She however did modeling jobs including a top Motorola commercial. Abiola has also obtained a law degree from a London University.

    Born Munachi Teresa Abii Nwankwo, the beautiful Imo born diva won the crown in 2007 at the age of 26. She was in her 2nd year in Benson Idahosa University when she won the pageant and went on to raise awareness on polio and sickle cell as the MBGN. After her reign, she focused on school bagging a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy. Muna has since then continued on her career as a rapper and song writer releasing several songs and collaborating with top Nigerian acts.
