Do the employers and employees use the same devices as their target audience?
Recently, Facebook asked its workers to get rid of their iPhones and stick to the use of Android devices. One may think this instruction is as a result of rivalry or a pact with Google to suppress their iOS competition. However, this is not the case. According to Wired, Chief Product Officer, Chris Cox explained that Facebook now serves over 1.5 billion people in the world and it was discovered that most of its users, especially newer users in emerging markets, use the social network on Android phones.
Now, this was a smart move by Facebook.
Is this the case in most companies? Do the employers and employees use the same devices as their target audience? Do they make conscious efforts to go through the same experiences as the public? Do they even use the products they sell?
Marketers must adopt the same experiences as the public in order to think, talk and act like them.
Put yourself in their shoes.
