Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets earlier this morning set a new record as they successfully defended their 2013 world cup win by defeating fellow West Africans, Mali 2-0.
Victor Osimhen scored his 10th goal of the competition to put the Eaglets ahead in the 56th minute which was doubled by Funsho Bamigboye barely 3 minutes later.
‘We have worked very hard for this success and we hope to continue. The players will go home now but their journey is not over yet. I have football in my blood, as a player and as a coach. This is what I want to pass to my players,’ an excited coach, Emmanuel Amunike disclosed to newsmen.
