Much-maligned French striker Olivier Giroud was practically on fire last night as he led his side to an impressive away win on the home ground of Greek side, Olympiakos.
The Arsene Wenger-led side came into game needing an outright win with at least 2 goals to qualify from Champions League group F.
Thanks to a Giroud hatrick, the EPL team cruised into the knock out stage of the Champions League with striker, who has been criticized by many sections of the fans, justifying the faith Arsene Wenger places in him.
Giroud opened scoring in the 29th minute with an header off an Aaron Ramsey cross. He then made a more determined return in the 2nd half with goals in the 49th after a brilliant pass from Joel Campbell and a 67th minute penalty neatly tucked in.
