Organisers of the annual Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards unveiled nominees for the 2016 edition last night amidst pomp and pageantry.
With excitement renting the air, one category which however interests many is the Best Overall Movie award. The category which is dedicated to the best film in the continent has 7 nominations for the 2016 edition.
However many are focusing on the movies produced by top Nollywood actresses, Genevieve Nnaji and Stephanie Okereke.
Genevieve’s recently released ‘Road to Yesterday’ which was directed by Ishaya Bako is nominated alongside Stephanie Okereke’s ‘Dry’.
Other movies in the category are ‘Freetown’, ‘Ayanda’, ‘Silverain’, ‘House Arrest’ and Akin Omotoso’s ‘Tell me something sweet’.
