When Nigerian rapper, Dagrin passed on at the of 26 on Thursday, April 22, 2010, exactly eight days after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident in Lagos, Nigeria, the news encouraged people to look more closely at one of his last songs titled ‘If I die’.
The chorus read:
‘If I die, if I die
Make you no cry for me
E jen simi, ejo kejen mi
If I die
If I die They pretending like my friend. But they wanna see the end,see the end.
Ko ye won ko ye won…’
FLASHBACK: How Dagrin died
And the line where he said, ‘I know say heaven dey, good and evil dey, na if you wan chop cake you go know say heaven dey’, birth speculations that he knew that he was going to DIE.
Fast-forward to today, January 11, 2016, it was confirmed that 69-year-old English singer/songwriter David Bowie passed on, yesterday, January 10, after battling cancer for 18-months.
We took some time to look through his last work ‘Lazarus’, off his 29th album ‘Blackstar’, which was released on Friday, January 8, 2016 to coincide with his 69th birthday, just two days before his death.

Lying on a hospital bed, he sings:
‘Look up here, I’m in heaven
I’ve got scars that can’t be seen
I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen
Everybody knows me now
Look up here, man, I’m in danger
I’ve got nothing left to lose
I’m so high it makes my brain whirl
Dropped my cell phone down below
Ain’t that just like me…’
Indeed, it seems that just like Dagrin, one can speculate he knew his death was very near.
