Top Nigerian comedian, Ayo Makun better known as AY has opened up on what inspired his upcoming movie, ‘A Trip to Jamaica.’
In an exclusive chat with TheNETng, the comedian and filmmaker disclosed that the movie was inspired by a research he recently carried out.
‘I did a research and discovered that Jamaicans love Nollywood. I usually want to have a blend of different cultures and in my research, I noticed that Jamaicans are big fans of Nollywood movies. They always want to watch our movies, they even sneak from their offices to watch our movies and so the best way to appreciate them back is to do something within their premise and create an aesthetic balance. This will make them like Nollywood even more,’ AY disclosed.
He further opened up on the choice of Hollywood actor, Eric Roberts and other members of cast of the movie.
‘I also discovered that Eric Roberts is more like an idol in Jamaica. They love him so much. The movie also blends the unique scenery of the country blended with all the talents on the movie.’
‘A Trip to Jamaica’, which is a spinoff of ’30 Days in Atlanta’, according to AY drops in a couple of months.
The movie also stars Funke Akindele, Nse Ikpe Etim and other Jamaican actors like Paul Campbell and Rebecca Silvera. …Read More
