Halle Berry remains the only woman of colour to win Oscars’ Best Actress to date, as of this year.
Halle Berry became the first African-American woman to win an Oscar, when she emerged as the Best Actress for her role in romantic movie ‘Monster’s Ball’ during the 74th Academy Awards in 2002.
That same year, Denzel Washington became the second African-American actor to receive the award for Best Actor and it was also the first time two African-American entertainers won in leading role in a year.
However, she remains the only woman of color to win Oscars’ Best Actress to date, as of this year.
