Blacks win big! SAG Awards make mockery of Oscars with non-white winners

    With the Academy Awards currently being bashed by from many quarters for its ‘whiteness’, the 2016 edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards seemingly made an attempt to correct the ‘race row’ which has made many black actors decided to shun the event.
    Blacks had a filled day last night, January 30 at the SAG Awards, as they won in major categories with ‘Beast of no Nation’ actor, Idris Elba winning a double.

    Other black winners are Queen Latifah (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries), Viola Davies (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series) and Nigerian-American actress, Uzo Aduba who walked away with the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for ‘Orange is the new black’.

    Idris Elba on his part won the awards for Best Male Actor in Supporting Role for the movie while he also triumphed in the Best Male Actor in a television series for ‘Luther’ making him the first black person to win a double at the SAG Awards. …Read More
