‘Branama’ singer, Kefee would have been celebrating her birthday today like other celebs like Saidi Balogun, Faithia Balogun, Tiwa Savage, Ushbebe etc, who are all a year older today, if she were to be alive.
But even in death, fond memories of the late songstress, who gave so much to Nigerian music still linger on. The death of prolific singer still stings in the hearts of family, friends and fans.
Born on February 5, 1980, the multi award-winning gospel musician, would have been 36 today but unfortunately her life was sadly cut short by lung failure.
Kefee Obareki, who was married to a top broadcaster, Don Momoh, died at the age of 34 at a hospital in Los Angeles California on June 12, 2014, after being in a coma for fifteen days.
She was buried amid tears on Friday July 11, 2014 in her hometown Okpara Inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.
The prolific singer was born in Sapele, Delta to the family of Andrew Obareke, who was at a time Deacon at a church founded by the parents of her ex-husband Alec Godwin.
Kefee graduated from University of Benin with a degree on Business Administration. Growing up as teen, she actively engaged herself with church activities especially singing in the choir.
As her passion for music kept growing bigger, she started writing and composing songs. In 2000 she released an album titled ‘Trip’ and that made way for her into the Nigerian music scene as a gospel artiste.
