This month makes it the 76th year since globally acclaimed cartoon, Tom and Jerry was created.
The widely-loved animation series, which chronicles the rivalry between a cat named Tom and Jerry, the ever troublesome mouse was created in 1940 by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara.
The cartoon was initially named ‘Puss gets the boots’ when it was first created with the cat initially called Jasper and the mouse named Jinx.
The name was however changed after it was nominated for ‘Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons of 1941′.
The cartoon is one of the most popular animated series ever and remains part of the growing up of a large chunk of today’s adults.
