Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of Leicester City’s draw against West Ham at the weekend by defeating Stoke City 4-0 in a Monday night Premier League clash at the Britannia.

A brace each from Harry Kane (who has now scored 24 goals) and Dele Alli secured the win for Spurs.

The win places Tottenham five points behind Leicester with four games to go.

Kane opened the scoring in the ninth minute, bending in a right-foot curler into the left-hand corner beyond Shay Given.

Christian Eriksen had a chance to double Spurs lead after kane played him on but his shot came off the cross bar.

In the second half, Alli made it 2-0 in the 68 minute, lifting the ball over Given following a fine pass from Eriksen.

Alli had a very good chance to make it 3-0 but hit the post after going round Given.

In the 71st minute Kane grabbed his second and spur’s fourth goal of the night, finishing off a quick counter attack.

Alli made amends from his earlier miss by scoring the fourth goal with eight minutes remaining, smashing in a left-foot drive.
