Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday arrested former governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa, for allegedly receiving N350million from the director of Finance, Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation, Senator Nenadi Usman.
The money was said to have emanated from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.
About N4billion was deposited into Usman’s account, which she then disbursed to several politicians in the build-up to the 2015 presidential elections.
A highly placed source at the anti-graft agency confirmed to our correspondent on telephone that Udenwa was quizzed and later released.
“Udenwa was invited on Tuesday and was quizzed for several hours. He was, however, released around 5pm and will cooperate fully with us,” he said.
