Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood, has been hit by yet another sad news, as a fast rising actress, Genevieve Nene, has passed on.
The painful news was made known yesterday by a film director and scriptwriter, Ike Nnaebue, who took to his instagram account to announce the death.
Genevieve reportedly died on Tuesday in Lagos after a brief illness.
Sadly, the screen diva, who was made popular by her role in ‘Hottest Strippers’ had last week shared on her Instagram account @genevievenene that she was very sick and prayed to God to heal her.
She died about five days after the post.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, which has in the last couple of years been hit by several deaths of its members, was yet to make an official statement on her death as at the time of filing this report.
