2016 has been a tough year on relationships in the Nigerian music industry. In fact, one might say it is the year of ‘un-relationships’.
What started with Olamide and Don Jazzy on New Year’s Day at the Headies infected even ties that go beyond music, as in the case of the Psquare family.
So forgive me, if I think Wizkid and Davido’s new friendship is a big deal, especially given their past history of squabbles, subs and slander. If you don’t remember, let me to refresh your memory.

Rivalry between these two was always inevitable. Although Wizkid won our hearts first, Davido came on the scene and made us love him.
While most may say Wizkid’s grass to grace story is more compelling and a major reason why many Nigerians are drawn to his music, Davido too has proven himself an undeniable superstar, through sheer hard work, which is rare for an ‘OBO’ (Omo Baba Olowo) that many thought was just going to be a one hit wonder.
