Yesterday there was an uproar in the polity after it was discovered that President Buhari’s letter to the senate regarding his medical trip to the UK, did not indicate that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would assume the office of an acting president. Rather the letter said he would be coordinating the activities of government”. Senator Mao Ohuabunwa at the senate plenary yesterday, frowned at this, stating that the constitution only recognises an acting president and not someone who coordinates the activities of government in the absence of a president.
