Magu, in Maiduguri, Charges Stakeholders in Recovering Stolen Funds, Assets
The acting Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu while on Anti-corruption Road Walk in commemoration of the African Anti-corruption Day with the theme: “Towards A Common African Position on Assets Recovery” reiterated the need for stakeholders to help the Commission in the recovery of stolen funds that are used in buying assets.
Magu gave the charge through the Maiduguri Zonal Head, Lawrence Iwodi on Thursday, July 11, 2019, while addressing various stakeholders including: members of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Nigerian Bar Association, Civil Society Organizations, Hadikubrah for the Less Privilege Foundation, Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers, National Youth Service Corp members amongst others.
According to him, “The Anti-corruption Walk was to sensitise the general public on the dangers of corruption and the negative consequences of illicit funds starched in Nigeria and other countries. Most of the funds stolen where diverted in buying proprieties in foreign countries,” Magu said.
