Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state, has picked the presidential nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The politician, who defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP earlier in the month, stormed the Wadata Plaza headquarters of the opposition party in Abuja with his supporters on Thursday evening.
Two weeks ago, Tambuwal said he was under pressure to contest for the presidential election in 2019.
He had told students, youth and residents, who paid him a visit that he had received advice from leaders within and outside the country to run for president.
“I have been receiving advice and encouragement from our leaders, peoples across the country and even from abroad to contest for presidency and this pressure has been mounting,” he had said.
