Senator Iyiola Omisore, a former deputy governor, is the candidate of the Social Democratic Party for the September 22 governorship election in Osun State. In this interview with Yinka Kolawole, he speaks on why he is seeking to govern the state, his electoral chances, and how he plans to reposition the state if elected after what he called eight years of bad governance. You have been vying to be governor of Osun State since 2003, by implication you are the longest running governorship aspirant in the state. Why are you so persistent about becoming governor of Osun State?
I have only contested for the governorship of Osun State once in 2014.
