President Muhammadu Buhari says the assistance of the UN and the international community will be invaluable in reversing the devastation visited on Nigeria by the Boko Haram insurgency.
A statement by Mr Femi Adesina, the President’s spokesman, said Buhari stated this when he received the visiting President of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Ms Maria Fernanda Espinosa, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday.
President Buhari observed that the condition of internally displaced persons ((IDPs) in the country was pathetic.
“We have at least a million children who neither know their parents, nor where they come from,’’ he said.
