Now that the truth had been told after 25 years that late Chief M.K.O Abiola won the freest, fairest and most peaceful election in Nigeria in 1993, adequate compensation and recognition must be given to him posthumously. The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari must be commended for taking the bold and courageous step to declare him the winner and thereby honoured him by giving him the highest award of the land, GCFR normally given to any head of state whether military or civilian. While commending him for this and not minding the hidden intention, reasons or agenda behind it, I wish to add that the payment of his salaries and allowances should not just be four years but eight because if he had been given the opportunity he would have governed so well that the people would have given another mandate of four years. Again he should be more financially compensated.
