Ajimobi, Ayefele, and a country’s return to gag laws

THERE are far too many things wrong with the Oyo State Government’s decision to demolish the Music House of delectable musician and artiste, Yinka Ayefele. Governor Isiaka Ajimobi was not well-advised on this issue at all. While Ayefele holds the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Toye Arulogun, responsible for the demolition in that the said commissioner allegedly misinformed, misadvised, and possibly piled pressure on Ajimobi to give the nod for this action, I, however, hold Mr. “Constituted Authority” himself responsible for the despicable act. The buck stops on Ajimobi’s desk as the “Executive Governor,” which is how many of these power-drunk “servants” of the people but who have turned themselves into overlords, love to be called. I am familiar enough with the seat of power to know that many of these “His Excellency” neither accept…
