The Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN) has warned against the possibility of government allowing the organised labour to embark on another strike by November 6, stating that the whole ports system is already in a state of chaos.
Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune exclusively, spokesman of STOAN, Bolaji Akinola explained that the economy will also be greatly affected in the event of another labour strike.
According to Bolaji Akinola, “If another strike is allowed to happen, it will affect not just the ports, but the economy. The nation’s economy is already bleeding. The ports are bleeding. Terminal operators are bleeding.
“The roads are bad. Trucks cannot come into the ports as when due, ports cannot exit the ports as at when due. The entire ports system is in a state of chaos.
