Nigeria police testing out patience, Niger Deltans youths tell EU

NIGER Delta youths under the aegis Save ljaw Nation Group (SING) have protested to the European Union (EU), what they say is a siege laid by the Nigeria Police Force, warning that the action is testing the patience of the people.

Submitting a letter of protest at the EU Embassy in Abuja on Friday, the youths called on the international community to intervene and stop the rights of the people from being violated.

Leading the protesters, Olufemi Lawson, the group’s Executive Director of Mobilization, said they were at the embassy to get the EU to immediately prevail on the Federal Government to stop the continued attempt, by men and officers of the Nigerian Police Force, “to conspire with some politically exposed Nigerians within the Niger Delta region, to violate constitutional rights, and impose a siege, which restricts the freedom of our people, across the Niger Delta region…
