AS a way of tackling the coronavirus, major markets in Benin City, the Edo State capital are to be shut for one week with effect from Wednesday April 8, just as two more people have tested positive for the pandemic bringing the total number of cases in the state to 11.

The deputy governor of the state, Phillip Shaibu, who announced this in Benin during a meeting with leaders of market women, explained that the decision was taken in order to allow for a proper fumigation of all the markets in Benin.
