COVID-19: Fayemi imposes restrictions on public gatherings in Ekiti


The Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has expressed concerns over the increasing cases of third wave of the Covid-19 in the state, saying that 180 cases were recorded between July and the last few days in August.

The governor, as a way of curtailing the third wave, imposed restrictions on social, religious, political gatherings across the state and directed transporters to reduce the number of passengers by half.

In his address which was read by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani, on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, Fayemi noted that all efforts must be geared towards stopping the further spread of the deadly variant in the state.
