Commercial and social activities in Owerri the capital of Imo State and its environs have remained normal following the relaxation of a one-week sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
IPOB had issued a sit-at-home order on the heels of the Anambra governorship election slated for November 6 in protest against the continued detention of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The order was however cancelled according to a statement by the group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful on Thursday, following public outcry and appeal by critical stakeholders in the South-East geopolitical zone.
