Oyo kingmakers have rejected the appointment of Prince Abimbola Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo, describing it as illegal and invalid.
Tribune Online reports that Governor Seyi Makinde on Friday approved Owoade’s appointment, ending an over two-year vacancy for the revered position.
However, the kingmakers, through a letter addressed to the governor and signed by their lawyer, Adekunle Sobaloju, insisted that the appointment contravened traditional processes.
