1,272 intending lawyers fail Bar exam

ABUJA— The Council of Legal Education has revealed that a total of 1,272 intending lawyers failed the Bar final examination conducted in August.

Statistics from the council showed that of 5,891 candidates that sat for the examination, 4,285 candidates succeeded, with 334 of them (5.7 per cent) securing conditional pass.

The records further showed that whereas 29 candidates got First Class, 211 made Second Class Upper, 1,046 got Second Class Lower, while a total number of 2, 999 candidates (72.7 per cent) got Pass.

Director-General of Nigerian Law School, Mr. O. A. Onadeko, SAN, disclosed that the successful candidates would be called to Nigerian Bar on November 28 and 29.
