EFCC detains Ex-Kogi gov, Wada over N23bn poll cash

Abuja—Former Kogi State governor, Idris Wada, was yesterday, grilled over his role in the sharing of N500 million of the N23 billion which former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke, reportedly handed Peoples Democratic Party to use and compromise the 2015 presidential election.

Mr. Wada, who arrived the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, around noon, was immediately ushered into the waiting hands of his interrogators, who asked him to explain what he collected the N500 million for and who benefitted from the cash, dispensed by a commercial bank.

Findings by Vanguard showed that Wada was still being quizzed by a team of EFCC operatives as at the time of going to press last night.

A top source in EFCC said that it was unlikely that the former governor would be released in the night.
